Music Master

Music Master is a program for learning to read music. Just type the letter that matches the note shown. If you get it wrong 3 times in a row, a cheat sheet will be shown. If you get it right, the computer should say "That's right".

Near the bottom of the window is a bar that has a button and a slider. Click the button to change to "play the note" mode. The note will jump around every so often so you can play along. You use the slider to change the speed.

If it doesn't work, first see if the window pops up behind the browser window, if that doesn't work, try to install Java (see below), then try again. If it still doesn't work, then email me with what kind of computer you have, what you tried, and any error messages. (See the contact page for my email address)

Music Master requires Java 2. If you don't have it you can get it here. If it is too big a download, I can provide CDs of Java to people.

Mac users should have it already. Lucky people.

I assume that users of other operating systems know what to do to install java.
